Casa Cimeira in the village of Valença do Douro is a classified property of municipal value. One of the last representatives of the traditional architecture of the rural bourgeoisie of the Douro, located in the municipality of Tabuaço, on the south slope of the Douro River facing Pinhão.
Casa Cimeira was built in 1814, when the vineyards were planted at Quinta da Corte and Quinta do Panascal (from Baixo and Cima) and was enlarged in 1831. In its initial architecture, this house was based on a rectangle developed on 3 floors.
The house’s storage is managed by Maria da Luz; The themed tours through valleys (Fraga da Moura, Mata da Moita, Rio Távora, Rio Tua and Ferradosa) and villages (Pinhão, Trevões, S. Salvador do Mundo) are led by the children, Paulo and Miguel.
The House offers for tourist use: 6 double rooms with complete private bathroom, giving us comfort and convenience, in a Douro environment and valuing the local architecture. Around the patio that connects to the warehouse / mill / winery, we find a building that offers a porch for breakfast or dinner, on hot summer nights, an interior room with fireplace and board games and another room for games. of children.
At the entrance to the winery we have a platform that houses a small panoramic pool over the Douro, supported by schist walls and flanked by two cherry trees for shade or to taste the fresh fruit of the season.
